Elbow, shoulder, knee and hip impact protectors are to be present in Class AAA and AA garments as a mandatory requirement, with the hip protectors being optional in Class A garments. EN 1621 impact protectors must be positioned in the garment so that they cover the appropriate body part, according to the relevant impact protector standard. Class B garments are designed to provide the equivalent abrasion protection of Class A garments but without the inclusion of impact protectors. Class C garments are designed to provide impact protection for areas covered by the impact protector(s) only, and they do not offer minimum abrasion protection. Class C garments are intended to be worn with and supplement the protection offered by Class AAA, AA, A or B garments.

THIS IS MY SECOND ONE! Why? Because I heard Joe Rocket is discontinuing this colour scheme and because I love this jacket SO much that I need a spare for when this one eventually wears out or just to wear when I am cleaning the first one. I’ve worn my Aurora jacket from April to mid October - through 30C+ days to 7C days. Depending on what I wear beneath it and how I manage the vent zippers, I have always been comfortable.
The white/black/red is so good looking and very visible. I have no idea why they would keep the grey or black versions that helps us be invisible to motorists and discontinue this one. I get so many compliments on it. It is really beautiful while having serious armour protection for shoulders, elbows and spine.
Yes, skill helps keep us be safe out there. So does the amount of protection built into every Aurora jacket and dark colours are best to hide the dirt but, by extension, the motorcyclist on a backdrop of an asphalt road surface.
I ordered a size down from the measurements for a medium which I recommend if you, like me, are close to the lower end measurements. The small fits me perfectly and has room for layers underneath on colder days and lots of air flow on hot days with only a t-shirt underneath. I am 5’6” and 125 pounds.
I have a blue leather motorcycle jacket but I feel much safer in this one which boosts confidence.
Bottom line, GREAT jacket!
I absolutely love this jacket. It’s perfect in every way. I have the white/black/red version and would purchase the peppermint pink/black version in a flash if they still made it. It’s cool on hot days with all the vent zippers open and warm on cooler days with enough space to wear another layer on top of my t-shirt. Only complaint is that the white parts seem to get streaks on them when washing but I can spot clean those and it goes away. LOVE HOW VISIBLE THIS JACKET IS. I ride a black motorcycle. I have no idea why black is the most popular colour for gear. It’s hot and nearly invisible to people in cars.
The armour is well placed and comfortable if you are wearing the proper size. I originally ordered a medium and had to size down to a small. If you are closer to the lower end of the measurements recommended for a size, go down to the next size.
Joe Rocket rocked this one! Please bring back the pink/black option!
I have owned this jacket since the start of this year’s riding season and I am very impressed with it. It kept me warm in April with an thin extra layer beneath my t-shirt. It kept me dry during a few light showers. It’s kept me cool out on the open road. Today I rode in 30C and didn’t break a sweat out there.
I originally bought a medium but sized down to a small. If you are on the lower side of the medium’s measurements, go with the small.
I have the white/black/red version and it looks great. My only negative comment is that something from the black runs into the white when washed making it necessary to spot wash the white again.
Bottom line, I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.
I've had this jacket for a few years now and its an excellent all-round jacket to add to the collection! The material has proven itself to not only be comfortable but also durable and hasn't aged a day. The high quality is evident from the protective armour, to the stitching, to the zippers, you name it. It's functional with many pockets and vents which can be easily opened and closed for warmer and cooler weather. They also added adjustable bands on either side of the waist for custom adjustments according to your preferred size and fit which is a bonus when looking for fitted women's gear! Great jacket :)
I haven't used it much yet but so far this jacket seems comfortable. My only wish was that it came in XS Tall. I need the Tall for the length but the Small is a little bit on the big side for me (5'9" and 140# with a small frame). It does seem to run quite big.
