Race Recap // Canadian Superbike Championship 2024 Finale!

The Sixth and final round of the Canadian Superbike Championship took place at Shannonville Motorsport Park this past weekend with Rocket-supported riders Sam Guerin and Jordan Szoke competing in the Pro Superbike Class.

Guerin and Szoke maintain second and third in the championship standings after Round 5 at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Have you ever wondered what a fast lap around Shannonville Motorsport Park looks like? Szoke has you covered.

Szoke had an unfortunate start to the weekend with a get-off during morning practice. Uninjured, he picked up his bike and set his fastest laps in the second half of the practice session.

 Walking it off.

Sam Guerin was battling with Ben Young for the GP Bikes Pro Superbike Championship, with Guerin needing to beat Young at every step to close the 50-point lead. It was dramatic in the qualifying rounds, with Young stalling during Q1 and Guerin discovering a setup issue with 5 minutes to go in Q2.

It looked like Guerin would be able to push the Championship battle to Saturday when he took the lead during Q2 with a time of 1:44:461, but near the halfway mark Young passed Guerin with a time of 1:44.073, securing the Pro Superbike Championship off qualifying points.

Guerin battling for 1st while Szoke waits to capitalize on any mistakes.

Guerin and Szoke’s performances in the final races of 2024 highlight what fierce competitors they have been for the Pro Superbike Championship this year. 14-time champion Jordan Szoke, finished the season continuing his run of top-four finishes while Guerin finished third in both races.

“I was able to put a ton of pressure on Alex, and even though I really wanted the win I was happy to see the progress we’ve made since the last time here in round one.” Guerin said.

Sam Guerin, Ben Young and Alex Dumas celebrate.

It has been a great year of professional racing by a respectable group of athletes. Congratulations to Sam Guerin and Jordan Szoke on a placing 2nd and 3rd in the Canadian Superbike Championship standings. We look forward to seeing more in 2025!
