  • The Joe Rocket Canada® Alter Ego 15.0 3-in-1 motorcycle jacket is a convertible multi-season jacket that adapts to the weather and is designed to combat the ever changing Canadian climate. It's multi layer functionality allows the rider to add and remove layers as needed, without sacrificing protection or comfort.

    Outer Shell
    Built with a breathable and 100% waterproof Rock Flex™ 900, the outer shell has a 4-way stretch that allows for a more comfortable fit and giving unrestricted movement while on the bike. For added protection we've reinforced the shoulders and elbows with Rock Tex™ 1000 panels and increased rider visibility with 360° reflective detail and trim.

    Inner Mesh Jacket
    The inner mesh jacket is built with 360° Free Air™ Mesh for increased breathability allowing for 360 degrees of uninhibited airflow to keep you cool in the summer heat. The mesh layer comes fully equipped with removable Vault™ WEB C.E. approved armour in the shoulders and elbows

    Warmth Liner
    A removable quilted insulated warmth liner is included and zips securely into the mesh jacket. This liner can added for additional warmth or removed as needed for added cooling.

    Armour
    Each jacket includes a set of Vault™ Web C.E. level 1 approved armour for the shoulders and elbows, as well as a C.E Level 2 approved spine protector. These can be worn in the armour pockets of either the Outer Shell or Inner Mesh jacket depending on your preferred jacket layer configuration.

Excellent product!

Now that Ive worn this jacket for a full year, in all weather, here’s my review. As I think it’s foolish to ride with only a mesh jacket (which disappears in seconds after hitting pavement at any speed), I have always worn the mesh (with pads installed) under the jacket. Riding from Kamloops and Williams Lake in 30+ Celsius was surprisingly comfortable, wearing only a t-shirt underneath. Equally surprising was riding at highway speed to Bella Coola when temperature was only 1 degree! Only my hands and feet were cold (I wore the matching Alter Ego Pants) and all I had under the jacket was a thin merino wool undershirt and a cotton fleece sweatshirt. In Prince Rupert with heavy rainfall at highway speed, I was completely protected.

But best of all is the opinion expressed by many people that the jacket looks really good — the reflective yellow is tastefully refined and the cut of the jacket is stylish.

My only complaint echoes that of an earlier reviewer: the forearms are strangely tight. At first I thought this might be a safety feature to prevent sleeves from rising and exposing wrists to pavement, but I’m not so sure about that. I’m not at all overweight, but if my forearms were more muscular, the jacket might be hard to get on. With just a shirt and sweatshirt, I really have to struggle to get my arms through the lower sleeve (upper sleeve is fine).

Nevertheless, I would not hesitate to buy this jacket again and I recommend it to you as an excellent and safe product. But I do suggest it be re-designed to create a bit more room in the forearms.

Love the versatility of the jacket,one minor defect was the Velcro on the one sleeve thread was letting go,had it repaired right away,the only dislike the sleeves are tight at my fore arm,otherwise very nice jacket,well made and that it comes with all the necessary protection as standard
