It was a dramatic Round 5 of the Canadian Superbike Championship at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park this past weekend with Rocket-supported riders Sam Guerin and Jordan Szoke competing in the Pro Superbike Class. 

Guerin and Szoke sit 2nd and 3rd in the Pro Superbike Championship Standings heading into round 5. 

Guerin started strong during qualifying on Friday, obliterating his previous best with a time of 1:31.368 and earning his first GP Bikes Pro Superbike pole position despite the damp conditions. Szoke positioned himself to lead row two with a time of 1:33:999 on Friday, despite reportedly running out of fuel during what was to be his best lap. 

“It’s amazing, it feels incredible. I love riding on a wet track, and it’s easier when I have all this amazing support,” Guerin said. “The championship is far from over, and I’m going to fight until the very last day.”

Saturday’s race one saw Guerin and Szoke putting significant pressure on Alex Dumas and Ben Young. Geurin finished third behind Dumas and Young, with Szoke continuing his run of top-four finishes.

“It was an interesting race with Alex. His bike is super fast down the straight, it was really hard to stay in the draft,” Guerin said. “Once Ben got me in turn five and started to chase after Alex, I just looked at the gap behind me and decided to bring it home and be ready to fight again tomorrow.”

A wet track for race two saw both Guerin and Szoke gamble on rear slick tires. Guerin and race one winner Dumas crashed during the opening lap with Guerin quickly remounting his BMW and making impressive gains to grasp sixth. Szoke carved up the the last half of the race missing the podium by four seconds and placing fourth.
